So here we all are in a state where we feel our lives have stopped. Not getting to go out of our houses, did we ever imagine this will happen? Did we ever predict that the effect of COVID-19 would be so severe that it would force countries to lockdown?

But the time will arrive soon when we will finally step out without any fear. Panicking over the situation is not a solution. Here are a few things to make use of our time effectively…

Relax!

Don’t you think we need a break from hustle and bustle life of our metropolitan city? Sit back and relax. It’s been ages since you have slept without putting an alarm. Here’s a perfect chance to catch up on some much needed and neglected sleep.

Quarantine and Chill

Before the lockdown, we all have often tried Netflix and Chill but now its time to try something new..Quarantine and Chill. With shows like Ramayana, Mahabharat, Circus, and Byomkesh Bakshi now streaming on Door Darshan, watch them.

Connect to Traditional and Cultural roots

We have been busy completing our assignments, college submissions, and work deadlines. Didn’t get a chance to participate in preparations of some pooja in your house? take responsibility and prepare for it.

The festival of Gangaur, one of the most widely celebrated occasion among the Rajasthani’s just went. I came across many new traditions that were followed during this time. Even the festival of Navratri is going on, celebrate it while staying at home.

Chant

Though places of worship are closed, chant at home. Bring positivity and calmness.

Write a Letter

In this world full of technology, write a letter to give a personal touch to your feelings. You might not be able to send it now but can definitely do once the lockdown is over.

Music

Listen to folk songs. They can give you a different vibe altogether.

Reconnect

Grab a cup of tea and indulge in a soothing conversation with your family you have been longing for. Speak your heart out.

Don’t forget your grandparents. If they stay away from you, make a call. Trust me, listening to amazing stories from them is joyous. Video call and send them virtual hugs.

Do you feel its been long since you fought with your sibling over the tv remote as you were busy binge-watching on your laptops? Here you have a chance, fight with them over the silliest reasons, try different pranks on them, irritate each other.

Learn New Things

Perfect time to brush up your skills. With a lot of sources present on the web nowadays, keep learning. Don’t waste this time. Learning new things will not only help you add things on your resume but also help you grow as a human. Keep learning and exploring.

Complete the projects you always wanted to try your hand on.

Rethink, Rejuvenate

Give time to yourself.Meditate.Pamper yourself. Do things you have also wanted to do. Think about career goals and future plans. Make changes in your behavior and habits. Eliminate negative thoughts. Remove the grudges that have been disturbing you. Rejuvenate and emerge as a better human filled with optimism.

Help your mom with the chores

Help your mom with household chores. Watering the plants, arranging the utensils on the shelf, helping her with dusting.

Don’t let the kid inside you die

I used to love watching cartoons Dragon Tales, Noddy, Oswald being some of my favorites. I guess we all did. Watch them again.

This time has made us realize, that we have been running behind materialistic pleasures but happiness can be found even in small unembellished things.

So to end with, its time to understand the value of the resources that are available to us and have been taken granted by us. Instead of spreading fake news, we need to spread positivity. We need to keep ourselves and things around us hygienic.

“All over the world, people are being quarantined and are being compelled to practice social distancing. We are trying desperately to remain sane in a world that seems bordering on the insane. So, the time is just right for us to ponder, reflect, meditate, and discover the world within our own minds.”

Stay Calm, Stay Safe, Stay Hygienic, Keep Learning.
